Hera Pheri 3 was never meant for Akshay Kumar to star in it: Why?
Hera Pheri 3 with Akshay Kumar was just a rumor all along. Now Akshay is protecting Hera Pheri 3 producer Firoz Nadiadwala's reputation by saying he wasn't fond of the film's script.
It's true that after 2006's Hera Pheri 2, Akshay no longer collaborates with Firoz. Akshay Kumar and Firoz Nadiadwala have been friends for quite some time. At some point after collaborating on films like Hera Pheri and Awara Paagal Deewana in the early 2000s, tensions between them boiled over. Firoz made two very successful Hera Pheri films with Akshay, but after Hera Pheri 2 they never collaborated again.
Then, for reasons we'll never know, they had a major falling out, and John Abraham was cast as Akshay Kumar's replacement in Hera Pheri 3. The supposed Hera Pheri 3 director, Neeraj Vora, got sick and died, so the film never got made. After that, Firoz once more announced Hera Pheri 3 with Akshay and Indra Kumar in charge of directing.
It's been a while. Time really does heal all wounds. In addition to being an excellent actor, Akshay is also a wonderful person. After a rough patch that included public feuds with directors Raj Kumar Santoshi and Anees Bazmi and the ultimate low point, the passing in his arms of a friend and fellow filmmaker Neeraj Vora, producer Firoz Nadiadwala was overjoyed to see Santoshi back in his Hera Pheri role.
Firoz had said, "Indra Kumar is a director who understands the suur and taaal of an Indian comedy," which was a big factor in his final decision. He has the most practical experience to lead the Hera Pheri team. There is no doubt in my mind that Hera Pheri 3 will be just as well received as its predecessors. Akshay, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal played three drunken losers in the first Hera Pheri film.
