Asmita Chakraborty to represent India at the 2023 Miss Tourism World competition
Asmita Chakraborty from West Bengal has been chosen to represent India at the upcoming edition of Miss Tourism World competition, scheduled to take place in China from December 8 to December 23, 2023. The world finals of the competition will take place on December 22 in the Quanzhou City. Miss Tourism World is the world’s biggest international tourism pageant that promotes tourism, worldwide culture and international goodwill.
Asmita was born in the Jalpaiguri City in West Bengal and currently resides in New Delhi. She has spent most part of her childhood in the Middle Eastern nations of Oman and Yemen, before moving to New Delhi. She stands 5 foot and 8 inches tall and has black hair and black eyes. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture and works as an architect. Apart from that she is also a model and social activist. She has walked the runway for several well-known fashion brands and is actively working with an NGO that supports women empowerment and works towards making them self-reliant. An academically inclined student since childhood, Asmita had secured AIR of 887 in JEE-Mains. She is also a trained dancer and singer specializing in the Indian Classical music and the Bharatnatyam dance form. Asmita is a polyglot and can speak 3 languages including English, Hindi and Bengali.
In 2021, she participated in one of the leading beauty pageants in India, Glamanand Supermodel India, held in Gurugram on August 21, 2021 and was crowned Miss Tourism India. Along with winning this prestigious title, she also won the rights to represent India at the 2023 Miss Tourism World 2023 competition. Asmita has been part of several national and regional beauty pageants in the past. Soon, she will be seen representing at the international platform, this December 22.
