Journey to the crown: An exclusive interview with Sanjana Tejwani, Miss Teen Diva 2023-24 finalist
Sanjana Tejwani from Maharashtra has been selected as one of the finalists for the nation’s biggest and most prestigious beauty pageant for teenagers and adolescents - Miss Teen Diva. Born in the Pune City, Sanjana is a student at the Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce. She had won the runner-up title at Miss Pune Festival earlier this year. Alongside being a beauty pageant enthusiast, she is a skilled culinary artist and enjoys dancing in her free time. Sanjana speaks 2 languages including English and Hindi. In this exclusive interview with the Beauty High Magazine, she talks about her preparations for the Miss Teen Diva finals and her journey till now.
Q. Many congratulations to you for getting selected for the national finals of Miss Teen Diva 2023-24 competition. How does it feel? What were the first thoughts that crossed your mind when you got the news that you have gotten selected to compete at the 2023 Miss Teen Diva contest?
Answer: Thank you so much. It is an absolute pleasure to be a national level finalist of the Miss Teen Diva contest. When I got to know that I have been selected I was very excited but also a bit nervous. It was a complete mix of emotions that I was feeling. But here I am all ready to compete for the crown.
Q. Tell us something about the place you belong to.
Answer: I was born and raised in Pune. Pune is a very beautiful city and its main attraction is its food and greenery. You will find all the flavours of Maharashtra here. It is lovely to see that people from different cultures and religious beliefs live here with so much love and respect for each other.
Q. Enlighten us in regards to your preparations for the upcoming Miss Teen Diva competition.
Answer: My preparations for the upcoming Miss Teen Diva competition have been great lately. With the support and guidance of Nikhil sir and my team leader Sejal, I am feeling confident about myself.
Q. In your opinion, what are the qualities / traits that you believe could help you move ahead in the competition?
Answer: I believe that I am very disciplined, determined and professional with all my work. It is my consistency; hard-work and passion towards my goals set me apart from all the others.
Q. Tell us something about your hobbies and areas of interest.
Answer: I really enjoy dancing, listening to music and cooking. I consider these to be my stress buster during a very hectic day.
Q. Any quote or saying that has a profound impact on you.
Answer: I truly believe in the thought:
“I don't believe in relying on luck, as luck only works for those who have passion to win.”
In order to be successful or to achieve your goals hard work and dedication towards it is important. Along with this consistently working towards achieving your goals also plays a significant role.
Q. Who / what is your biggest support system?
Answer: My biggest support system is undoubtedly my mother. She has always allowed me to pursue my dreams and stood like a rock behind me no matter what. I am very grateful to have her in my life.
Q. When you look back in time, what is the biggest life lesson that you have learnt?
Answer: The biggest lesson that I have learnt in life is that choose your company wisely because it plays a vital role in shaping you and your goals in future. Choose people who will correct you if you go on a wrong path and not merely support you when they know it's not right.
Q. In your opinion, what is the best way to handle criticism?
Answer: Handling criticism involves being open-minded and looking at it as an opportunity of self-growth. It is also very important to separate genuine criticism and negativity. In this process, you shouldn't lose your self-confidence.
Q. One piece of advice that you would like to share with the individuals who want to join the beauty pageant industry.
Answer: In the beauty pageant industry authenticity is the key. Embrace your uniqueness and be true to yourself. It will help you to stand out from others.
Q. Lastly, any message for the readers.
Answer: Be yourself and pursue your goals. Many challenges will come in your way so don't give up; face all the challenges with grit, resilience and courage. And remember that finally, it will be all worth it.
