Supriti Mustafi Dawn from West Bengal has been selected as one of the finalists for the 2024 Mrs. India beauty pageant organized by the Glamanand Group. Born in Kolkata, Supriti is currently based in New Delhi. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication and is a model and also works in the IT sector. She has a series of beauty pageants and ramp shows in the past including Sananda Style Diva and 19-20 (Unish Kuri) Magazine White Beauty Contest. She began her modeling career at an early age and has been part of a series of print shoots and runway shows. Supriti is a polyglot and can speak three languages including English, Hindi and Bengali. In this exclusive interview with the Beauty High magazine, she talks about her preparations for the Mrs. India 2024 beauty pageant and her journey so far.
Q. Many congratulations to you for getting selected for the national finals of Mrs. India 2024 competition. How does it feel? What were the first thoughts that crossed your mind when you got the news that you have gotten selected to compete at the 2024 Mrs. India contest?
Answer: Thank you so much. The feeling cannot be expressed in words. After more than five years since I left this field, I made a decision to participate in it. So when I got selected for the national finals, it felt good. I am lucky that I am going to live my dreams once again. I am really looking forward to the journey ahead.
Q. Tell us more about the place you belong to.
Answer: I come from Kolkata, the City of Joy. It is also the city of art, culture, dance, drama, festivals and food. Here people get enough encouragement to take part in the extra-curricular activities and then start to follow their passion. Durga Puja is the biggest festival celebrated over here when people from all over the world come to see the Pandals and idols. There is warmth in the people of my city that you won’t find anywhere else.
Q. Please take us through the significant milestones in your life and how they have shaped you as the person you are today.
Answer: Being born in a conservative family, I had restrictions to come back home within a timeframe and was not allowed to go out or party with friends beyond a certain time. But I was never advised to not follow my dreams rather they encouraged me and supported me in following my dreams. This encouraged me to participate in beauty pageants at a young age, which was always my passion. I was the winner of Sananda Style Diva 2010 and 19-20 (Unish Kuri) Magazine White Beauty Contest 2010 in Kolkata. Winning these beauty contests and ramp shows at such a young age was an amazing moment in my life. This has taught me to balance life and know my priorities. I have realised to follow my dreams, and through hard work and determination, I can achieve them.
Q. What are your hobbies and areas of interests, and how do you manage them with the responsibilities that you shoulder?
Answer: I am fond of drawing. I personally like to work, and also love to look after my household works. It automatically gets managed because I enjoy what I do. And now I am once again getting a chance to follow my passion.
Q. Please tell us about your family and the role they play in your life
Answer: Both my parents have always trusted me and encouraged me in every step of my life, be it from my studies to what I love doing and even choosing my life partner. I chose my life partner and fought a lot with my family before getting married as I was pretty sure that he is the one. I am proud to be his Mrs and that is why I have decided to take part in this contest! Being a banker, my husband has a transferable job and we have to move to different places. He has always been supportive and will be with me throughout the journey.
Q. Balancing personal, professional, and family responsibilities can be challenging. How do you manage this delicate balance in your life?
Answer I was very clear at what age I would like to marry, whom to marry and what would be my priorities once I am married. So it has never been a challenge for me. I take all my decisions, be it personal or professional, after considerable amount of thought and I am always clear about what I want to do. So they have never seemed like a challenge to me to be honest.
Q. What is the most crucial piece of advice that you would like to share with the women of this era?
Answer: A woman should definitely follow their passion and have her priorities set. Women of this era are too much into social media but I believe certain things should be always kept private no matter how much social media has evolved.

Answer: Have fun, know what you love- be it your partner, profession or passion. Cheers!
