John Burke Krasinski, a 35-year-old, American actor, film director, and writer, most widely known for playing the role of Jim Halpert in American hit comedy series, The Office. He has also given his appearance in several films including Away We Go, Leatherheads, License to Wed, Something Borrowed and It’s Complicated. In 2018, he directed an American post-apocalyptic science fiction horror film, A Quiet Place. Starring Krasinski himself, along with Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe.
The plot of the movie was about a family facing struggles to survive in a post-apocalyptic world, where blind extra-terrestrial creatures were inhabited with an acute sense of hearing. The movie’s trailer received huge online appreciation and when it was out and alike the trailer, the movie was a great hit at the box office grossing around $340 million worldwide.
It was nominated in many categories of Critic’s Choice Movie Awards 2019 and secured the award for the Best Horror Movie. A Quiet Place was Krasinski’s third directorial movie and it appealed him more because of the concept of parents protecting their children, especially as his second child with actress and his spouse Emily Blunt had just been born.

After the huge success of the movie at the box office, it’s sequel was in the minds of the producers. In April 2018, Paramount Pictures (film studio where A Quiet Place was made) CEO Jim Gianopulos said that the sequel of the film was “in the works”. Screenwriters Woods and Becks had previously stated that they were working on the new ideas and set of pieces possible for the sequel. Whether Krasinski would be a part of the film or not was still not revealed. In August 2018, Paramount announced that Krasinski was writing the script of A Quiet Place II.
As everyone was expecting that this film might be a sequel of the same story as shown earlier, but in November 2018, Krasinski stated that it would not be a direct sequel of the previous film but would focus on another group of people surviving the same alien invasion. On February 22, 2019, Krasinski confirmed through his Instagram post “time to go back” about the sequel coming in theatres on 15, May 2020.
He will once again serve as a director, while his wife Emily will reprise her role from the first film. Millicent’s Simmonds and Noah Jupe are also in negotiations to reprise their respective roles. With the cast all set to bang the theatres once again on May 19, the audience cannot wait anymore for another remarkable performance.
