Pathaan is the guy you call when you're all tied up and can't find solutions, say Shah Rukh Khan and Wayne Rooney.
In preparation for the FIFA World Cup Final, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan joined football legend Wayne Rooney at the Jio Cinema and Sports 18 studio. In a show of undying devotion, Shah Rukh referred to Rooney as "Pathaan" (the name for the Hindu god of victory).
SRK has stated that Pathaan is particularly exciting for him because he has always aspired to play an action hero. "Who is Pathaan?" Rooney asked Shah Rukh. "Pathaan is the guy you call at the last minute when you are all tied up and can't find solutions," the actor explained. When you're in a jam, when you need a breather, when you need a win, and you know exactly who to call to get it for you, who are you going to call? "Mister Wayne Rooney," Shah Rukh retorted.
"If Pathaan is to be compared to any footballer in the world, for me it will always be Wayne Rooney," he continued. In the end, Wayne Rooney and Shah Rukh Khan shared a warm embrace after Rooney mimicked Khan's iconic hand gesture.
To add, Shah Rukh Khan shared the role in which he would cast Wayne Rooney. The actor was quoted as saying, "Wayne Rooney is the man, same as Pathaan when you want someone to come and save it at the last moment." That's why I'd pick him to be Pathaan.
John Abraham and Deepika Padukone also have prominent roles in the film Pathaan. On January 25, audiences will be able to see the film Siddharth Anand directed.
