Even with its massive success, Drishyam 2 is expected to break the Rs 100 crore mark at the BO today.
The success of Drishyam 2, which stars Ajay Devgn and Tabu, has not slowed down. The release of the sequel to Drishyam in 2015 on November 18 has helped the film maintain its dominant position at the box office, and it is now getting close to the Rs 100 crore mark.
Earlier today, film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh reported that Drishyam 2 has been doing well at the box office, and he predicted that by 2022, the crime thriller would become the fifth outright Hindi film to hit a hundred million dollars worldwide.
According to the critic and analysts, the movie has made Rs 15.38 crore, Rs 21.59 crore, Rs 27.17 crore, Rs 11.87 crore, Rs 10.48 crore, and Rs 9.55 crore from Friday, November 17, to Wednesday, November 23. This means that it will "swim past" the Rs 100 crore mark on day 7 at theatres.
On the other hand, between Days 4 and 6, the film's attendance steadily declined at national chains PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis. Day 4 at PVR brought in Rs 2.65 crore, but Day 6 saw a drop to just over $2 million. Similar declines were seen in the film's earnings elsewhere: from Rs 2.15 crore on Day 4 at INOX, it fell to Rs 1.80 crore on Day 6; and from Rs 1.13 crore on Day 4 at Cinepolis, it fell to Rs 82 lakh on Day 6.
