Season 9's last episode of Bigg Boss Kannada aired on the last day of the year, December 31, at 7:30 p.m. Five hours later, host Sudeep announced that Roopesh Shetty had won. As the first runner-up, Rakesh Adiga comes in in a close second.
While most contestants spend no more than 100 days isolated from the outside world in the Bigg Boss house, Rupesh and Rakesh have been on the show for nearly 150 days. From the OTT version of the show, which aired for 42 days, the two were among the final four contestants. Having made it through the mini-season, Rupesh and Rakesh spent a few days in isolation in accordance with Covid-19 protocol before entering Bigg Boss Kannada Season 9.
For this season, the goal was to shift the balance of power on the show. According to Parameshwar Gundkal, Business Head, Colors Kannada, "the combination of Bigg Boss Kannada seniors from both broadcast and OTT and fresh house inmates itself was the craziest mix that one can ever imagine."
On September 23, the ninth season of the Kannada version of Bigg Boss premiered. On January 1st, following three months of intense competition and high drama, the victor was revealed.
